All of these paintings were done or started in the Stephen Quiller workshop the second week of my stay at Springmaid Watermedia at Myrtle Beach.  Its been fun finishing up since I returned to Green Turtle.  Still processing all I had thrown at me in a short time and also getting ready for the Christmas Holidays.  Still have the paintings I started in the Mary Wilbanks workshop to finish up and hope to post right after New Years.                                  MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

Just returned from 3 weeks at Springmaid watermedia workshops.  These paintings are ones I did the first week with Carol Barnes, an artist from Boulder Colorado.  Had so much fun and worked so hard and came home exhausted.  Had to pack for the trip while Hurricane Sandy was going over Green Turtle and forgot my jacket so was a little cold but didn't let it stop me.

Pages from my sketchbook......

Its been so warm this summer that I have mostly just sat and sketched in my sketchbook so thought I would share a few with you just to show I haven't been sitting and twiddleing my thumbs!  My sketchbook is where I play with new painting ideas and it doesn't matter if they work or not.  They are just for me.  If I like them I keep them.....if not I just paint over and don't feel I have lost anything!

These are all 3" x 3" mixed media abstracts that I will mount on larger boards.  I have been working on a great number of them to take back to Houston in the Fall.  Lots of fun working in a small format and toooooo warm and humid to do much outside.

Plein Air 1

Here are 4 paintings that are 6"by 6" watercolors done on a recent trip to Taos, Santa Fe, New Mexico and Durango, Colorado.  Had a great trip with my daughter.  This is one of the few times I have been able to do plein air painting and think I could really enjoy more of it.  Am now back on Green Turtle Cay, Bahamas and having lots of rain so working on some small pieces that I will take back to Houston.

4 X 4's

Two very small paintings that are each  4" X 4" on canvas boards which will be mounted on wooden cradles  when I get them to Houston.  I'm working on some larger canvas paintings similar to the last posting that will be hung on tapestry holders.  Summer coming so lots of friends leaving the island and will have lots of painting time.
